Yes, it may seem weird but it’s true; leather in spring is “in”. Fashion has finally eliminated the barrier that reserved leather only for winter; designer’s proposals this spring/summer season featured a great number of leather pieces.
If you thought you had to say goodbye to the cute leather shorts, skirts, leggings or dresses you bought last winter, you guessed wrong; leather will be present the whole year. The key is to wear thin leather fabrics, leave the heavy ones for winter, it can get pretty hot in summer and they will be unbearable to wear, avoid the sweating!
There is though an ethical problem about wearing real leather, most people don’t support it and opt for alternatives such as vinyl, pleather or plastic; which make great imitations as well.
If you’re willing to try this trend and spice up your style these seasons don’t hesitate into including some leather or faux leather pieces into your outfits.
QUICK TIP: Look for leather blazers or vests in the same color as the bottom leather pieces you own and you’ll get an instant suit. Get inspired by Monique Lhuillier, Cushnie et Ochs and Versace’s collections.

Leather dresses are a total “must have”; it’s time to modernize that little black dress in your closet and get a little leather black dress; that will definitely make a statement when you decide to wear it on a night out.
Do leather in colors; this is spring and color is at its best right now. Look for red leather dresses like the one featured in Loewe’s collection or in a vivid orange shade like the one we saw at Adam’s spring fashion show. Marni even did one in pastel green that will suit perfectly the not so tough-more feminine girls.
Choose a pair of caramel leather shorts instead of black, and while there, why not caramel leather pants, pencil skirt and vest.
